MEDIA ALERT: FARMINGDALE VILLAGE ELECTION WILL BE HELD MARCH 20th, 2012
Georgiana Sena Declares Her Official Candidacy for Farmingdale Village Mayor
Long‐time Village advocate and respected civic leader Georgiana Sena is running as The Village Independent Party’s candidate for Mayor.
FARMINGDALE, NY – Georgiana Sena is announcing her official candidacy for Mayor of Farmingdale Village. As a Farmingdale resident and homeowner, she has been deeply involved with charitable and civic organizations for over twenty years working diligently to improve her community. With today’s announcement she brings her signature dedication to the Mayoral race as The Village Independent Party’s (VIP) candidate.
Running on a platform of restoring pride, respect and integrity to Village government, Georgiana Sena has the strength, the intellect and the compassion to develop solutions for the many concerns of her fellow residents. VIP’s “business--‐friendly” platform will work to find solutions to the serious problems that currently plague Farmingdale’s business community. Despite prior campaign promises, the current administration has allowed the number vacant downtown storefronts rise to 25%. “I want local business to thrive in our community since that will improve the village’s economics and improve the quality of life for all our residents.” Says Ms. Sena.
We will end the current administrations practices of:
- Excessive ticketing in our municipal lots, which sends people to other communities to shop and dine.
- Appointing political cronies to the ethics board so citizens concerns are placed above political patronage.
- The “kicking the can down the road” budgets by advocate forming a fiscal responsibility committee.
Georgiana Sena’s two running mates for the office of Trustee are also respected members of the Farmingdale community. Michael Manchin is a highly decorated retired Nassau County police supervisor and U.S. Army veteran with experience in business and banking. He volunteers his time to support Veterans Affairs and Kiwanis. Susan Miles is a third generation Village resident with over twenty years of international business expertise. Two of her three children currently attend Farmingdale Middle School and she volunteers with Kiwanis and the Police Athletic League (PAL).
Our Pledge to the Village of Farmingdale residents includes:
- Developing business-friendly environment to encourage growth
- Implementing sound financial management to eliminate extravagant waste of tax dollars
- Working to protect and improve “Quality of Life” issues within the Village.
- Bringing integrity and honesty to Village government
- Supporting our local volunteer fire department.
- Implementing fair and balanced Municipal Code enforcement policies
- Protecting our Main Street merchants and customers from over-zealous ticketing
We welcome your support. All correspondence and contributions should be sent to Village Independent Party, P.O. Box 1185, Farmingdale, NY 11735.
